It seems like a no-brainer, but getting to Class on time and reviewing any materials assigned over the break will prepare you better than cramming all night. Not only will your memory be fresher, but you’ll be less likely to fall into the trap of trying to study rather than studying. Remember: Studying is about absorbing information, not just covering it up with noise in your brain to look like you know what you’re doing. (You don’t.) Save yourself from failure by arriving early to Class and giving yourself ample time on homework before exams or quizzes start.

Sleep Well if You Have Time to Rest Up

Sleep deprivation can wreak havoc on your brain function. A 2007 study in Europe revealed that even sleeping only six hours per night increased the risk of Alzheimer’s disease by nearly 40 percent. If you have time, rest well and get your sleep! For example, try to get seven or eight hours of sleep a night during exam week if possible. Not only will you be more alert in Class (and thus able to learn more), but getting enough sleep may reduce your risk of developing serious diseases later in life. So it’s good to get plenty of rest – even if that means cutting back on TV or putting down your phone at night!
