Estrogen is a very important hormone in every woman. This important hormone is mainly responsible for the production of most characteristics in women such as breasts, general body fat distribution as well as body hair. Estrogen is also known and proven to be an active hormone in the regularization of the menstruation cycle in woman, fertility level conditioning and the menopause stage of a woman's life.

Estrogen as a hormone is made up of some other different smaller hormones namely; estradol, estrone and estriol. This sensitive and important hormone is produced at some parts of the human body like, in the adrenal glands, the ovaries, the fat cell glands and also during pregnancy.

A woman's body system requires much of this estrogen hormone to function at its optimum level. This is not to say that men do not have hormone estrogen, rather it is more in women. This is because this hormone is required in every stage of a woman's life. During the reproductive life span of a woman this hormone helps in the development and production of female reproductive tissues. This tissue helps keep the urinary tract, blood vessels and breasts in flexible condition.

As a woman approaches 35 to 40 years of age, the level of hormones begins to reduce and fluctuate. Though there are some bioidentical hormones which can be used to replace the diminishing hormones and get it restored to a balance level. In restoring the diminishing hormone level, a woman needs to reduce her level of exposure to xenoestrogens, engage more in regular exercise to keep the body in shape and also maintain a good diet. It's true that estrogen hormone is necessary in a woman's life cycle but, too much of it can result to a condition which is known as estrogen dominance.

Estrogen dominance as several symptoms which include but, not limited to: digestive problems, constant headache, fever, weight gain and depression. Other symptoms are breast tenderness, irregular periods and anxiety. Progesterone decline is also associated with some issues during the perimenopause stage of a woman. This is a rear situation where a lady who is close to her 40s starts to notice some irregularities in her system. She begins to feel a strange dryness in her private part as a result of decline in estrogen hormone level. Excessive exposure to some toxin also increases the rate and presence of estrogen dominance

Some other noticeable symptoms of estrogen dominance are that of emotional disorder, which can either be bloated or depressed. Quite frankly, estrogen dominance can lead to some critical health issues if not checked and reduced as it can ultimately lead to gradual development of cancerous growth.

As we try to maintain a good balance of the body's estrogen hormone level, we must not forget that a low estrogen level should equally be avoided. Lower estrogen can have a person feeling slow in mental reasoning and eventual depressed from time to time. In most cases, it could lead to weight gain as the body continues wait while estrogen is been generated in the fat cell of the body.

A good health maintenance is always very necessary during the perimenopause and menopause stages of a woman's life cycle. Also remember that medically, it is a good advice to introduce the use of estrogen supplement along with bioidentical progesterone supplements. But if you have to introduce any of the above mentioned supplements, always ensure you are advised by your doctor.
